Six wickets put the blue boys in driver's seat
The blue brigade continue to dominate the 1st Test Match with Bangladesh on the fourth consecutive day claiming 6 wickets while scoring 272 runs. They now need only 4 wickets to steal the match from the hosts.
Chasing a mammoth total of 513, the neighbouring openers showed great resilience as they scored hundred runs opening partnership before the lunch. This was later smashed by Umesh Yadav, with the help of a brilliant catch by Rishabh Pant.
After the fall first wicket, the Team India crawled its way back to the match from the second session. The debutant, Zakir Hasan, showed a great fight back. He scored his maiden test ton and became the 6th Bangladesh player to have scored a ton on test debut. He was later sent back by R Ashwin which became Ashwin’s first wicket in the match.

Axar Patel later came into play and flexed his arms as he brought the hosts completely down by taking 3 wickets in short interval. Litton Das, who was looking good was sent back by Kuldeep Yadav with the help of a brilliant bowl.

Shakib is standing with 40 runs of 69 balls as he is accompanied by Mehndi Hasan who has scored 9 runs of 40 balls. They still need 241 more runs to chase down the gigantic total and steal the win from the visitors.
Previously, India declared their innings on 258 runs for 2 wickets. Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubhman Gill displayed a remarkable performance. Pujara scored a ton after a long drought of centuries. Pujara scored a brilliant 102 runs inning which also is his fastest century of his career that came off in just 130 balls.
Gill also put up a brilliant show as he smashed 110 runs of 152 balls helping India get a mammoth lead over Bangladesh. Before Indian captain declared the inning the visitors were already leading by 512 runs.
